Thanks for the list, which includes my recommendation from today ( Animal Farm ) . I also would recommend [The Autobiography of] Benvenuto Cellini, for a vivid first-hand depiction of the lawless tyrannies of "The Enlightenment."
Anything written by Thomas Sowell. This man is an economist plus, plus, plus. Down to earth, deals with so many issues in such an amazing way.
